Personal training is proven to be more successful than trying to get in shape on your own. If we were all driven enough to exercise regularly personal trainers wouldn’t exist.   • Evaluate yourself and set realistic goals - Setting specific, measurable and realistic goals is vital to the success of any fitness program
  • Recognize what motivates you - factors such as music, atmosphere and camaraderie can seriously influence your motivation. Consider these factors when planning your workout. Exercising with a partner or trainer and having someone to share your goals with can help keep you accountable and motivated.
  • Quick-fix diets - work only in the short-term
  • Plan - don’t allow life to get in your way – make exercise part of your daily life
  • Get prepared - use the weekends, or other spare time to prepare healthy meals and snacks for the week
  • Rest - Take at least 1-2 days off every week, working out too often could hinder your success
  • Keep a record - track your progress. Keep track of your exercise advances and your meals. Make adjustments along the way. Keep a journal and share your successes with a friend or trainer
  • Make an investment - at the very least seek the help of a professional trainer to design program that works for you to kick start your new lifestyle
  • Stick with it - Consistency is the key, it’s worth the hard work and it may add years to your life
